N’weti in partnership with Pathfinder are bidding to implement USAID’s Maternal and Child Health, Immunization and Nutrition (MNCHI&N) project. The project will be implemented in Nampula, Zambezia, Tete and Niassa. The Nutrition Director will be in charge for managing the nutrition technical area for the MNCHI&N project. The Nutrition Director will be overseen by the Technical Director. The position is subject to Pathfinder winning the USAID award.

Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure technical leadership of the project’s nutrition strategy and progress toward nutrition outcomes;
Contribute key technical and programmatic expertise during co-creation, full MNCHI+N activity proposal stages, and (if successful) implementation of the anticipated USAID
Support implementation approaches to advance Intermediate Result (IR) 1 (Increased adoption of healthy MNCH, immunization and nutrition behaviors) & IR2 (Improved access to MNCH, immunization and nutrition services)
Provide technical and programmatic support to the program’s nutrition, community mobilization and social behavior change (SBC) strategies
Ensure appropriate strategies and approaches are developed and implemented for nutrition to improve health-seeking behaviors and access to quality nutrition & health services to improve health and nutrition outcomes; including to improve care-seeking and routine household behaviors for nutrition and child feeding behaviors
Provide key guidance and implementation support including national, provincial and district-level (including with all partners, stakeholders, and CSOs) and community-level (including activities with community health workers, community leaders, young people in and out of school, and activists; on the topics of SRHR, nutrition, gender equality, routine immunization, integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI), and other topics) in the project geographies
Support digital marketing and awareness raising activities in the designated geographic areas for SBC on a range of MNCHI+N topics
Contribute to capacity building of CSOs and the broader MNCHI+N ecosystem
Ensure multi-sectoral coordination and collaboration amongst partners and stakeholders
Ensure strategies for improving gender transformative approaches and social inclusion.
Qualifications
Masters Degree or its equivalent in Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, Social and Behavior Change Communication, Social Marketing; Health Communication; Health Promotion; Social Sciences; or other relevant field;
Minimum 5 years of experience in nutrition/health programs
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for large projects focused primarily on nutrition
Experience and knowledge of gender and other health programs preferred
Experience working in a USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English
Experience in supervising professional staff
Relevant computer software skills (including, at minimum the standard applications in MS Office)
