The Global Financing Facility (GFF) held a consultation last Thursday, June 26, to develop its 2026-2030 strategy. This session, which was attended by senior management from the Ministry of Health, Cooperation Partners and Civil Society Organizations, focused on the following lines of strategic consultation: (i) positioning of the GFF on the global stage - focused on the added value of the GFF; (ii) lessons learned during the implementation of the first strategy and opportunities for innovation and, finally, (iii) strategic priorities, evolutions and choices for the future.

This event coincides with the publication, in Global Health Action, of research that addresses the first cycle of implementation of the GFF in Mozambique, having as its object of analysis its main instruments, namely the Investment Case and the Program Appraisal Document. The main finding of the analysis indicates that the Global Financing Facility policy processes in Mozambique enabled the convening of key stakeholders and a structured framework for addressing health disparities; however, it was shaped by complex contextual factors, stakeholder skepticism, and challenges in aid coordination.
