Strategic Plan

This document presents a summary of Nweti’s Strategic Plan (SP) for the period 2021-2025, which will guide the organization’s response to the health and development needs in Mozambique. Through this SP N’weti aims to continue to support Mozambique to accelerate progress towards achieving its commitments and contribute to key priorities towards equitable and universal access to health.

Mozambique’s population is young and mostly rural (68%) with more than half (53%) under the age of 18.1 Mozambique’s population increase puts pressure on country resources and infrastructure, already challenged by high levels of poverty, low education attainment, limited access to clean water and sanitation, and considerable high rates of infectious and communicable diseases. Despite decades of efforts, the Mozambican health sector has failed to deliver adequate access to and quality of health services. The country’s health system is trapped in a continuous crisis of poor performance, disproportionately affecting women and children. This failure has devastating health outcomes.
