Our Approach

N'weti's actions in the context of health services quality monitoring are done using the Community Score Card (CSC) implemented by pairs of facilitators previously trained in the methodology. The CSC is a tool that allows users of public services to participate, in an organized manner, in monitoring the quality of the health services they receive. In this way, conditions are created for the engagement, and constructive dialogue, between the community and service providers, aiming to identify gaps and barriers in access to services and to seek consensus for the improvement of public services provided to the citizen/community. The CSC, from N'weti's perspective, is used for three main purposes: (i) monitoring the quality of public health services; (ii) identifying and defining health priorities (from the user's perspective) for subsequent integration into district health sector plans and District Economic and Social Plans and Budgets (PESOD); as well as (iii) building a body of evidence for defining public policy advocacy actions in the health sector.

.

The CSC is a tool developed by the World Bank and adapted for Mozambique by N'weti. N'weti, in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MISAU), implements, since 2019, community consultation processes through this tool, and in close collaboration with the targeted health facilities and local authorities. Given this context, community consultations have already been conducted in 229 health units in five selected provinces, namely: Maputo Province, Gaza, Inhambane, Zambézia and Nampula.
