The Budget Monitoring Forum (FMO), a group of civil society organizations (CSOs) interested in monitoring and influencing national public finances, is implementing in the provinces the range of advocacy and monitoring activities of the State Budget that it has been developing at Maputo level.

The project started in August 2018 and is funded by the European Union under the Support Program for Non State Actors in Mozambique - Participation for Inclusive Growth (PAANE) II and involves five organizations, N'weti- Communication for Health (leader of the consortium), the Center for Public Integrity (CIP), the Center for Training and Learning of Civil Society (CESC), the Mozambican Observatory for Rural Development (OMR) and the Mozambican Group of Debt (GMD).

The project is being implemented at the central level and in the provinces of Inhambane (Maxixe and Jangamo), Sofala (Beira and Buzi), Niassa (Lake, Mandimba), Tete (Changara, Moatize) Cabo Delgado (Montepuez and Ancuabe) and Each member of the consortium contributes to the project with identified expertise and capabilities that can bring added value and added value to the overall project objective as well as each of the specific objectives. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of public finance management from the broad participation of CSOs (at central, provincial and district level) and their influence in the formulation and monitoring of public finance management and the State Budget. Specifically, the aim of the intervention is to: raise the level of knowledge, awareness, participation and information of citizens and CSOs on budgeting and management of public finances at Central and Provincial levels; influence public policies and budgetary priorities for the medium and long term defined based on the WMO advocacy line and other CSOs.
