N’weti Zambézia Project

The project implements a comprehensive, synergistic and people-centered approach that integrates social mobilization and social action to capture health services. The project started in FY 2019, focused on counseling and testing based on the index case approach, linkage and retention in care and treatment in five districts, DREAMS and OVC program, implemented in Gaza and Zambezia provinces, a total of 22 districts, and with 15 grants in FY 2022.

Objectives : The overall objective is to reduce the risk of HIV transmission and improve health outcomes for people and families affected by HIV in Zambezia and Gaza province by increasing coverage of high impact, evidence-based community HIV services.

Target Group:

Target Population: Adolescent girls and vulnerable young women 10- 24 years

Orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) thematic area

HIV-positive child/adolescent

Children of PLHIV

Children of Sexually Transmitted Infants

Children exposed to HIV

Children survivors of sexual violence

Boys and Girls 10-14 years old

Thematic Area Health Counseling and Testing- Community

Target Population: Sexual partners and biological children of people living with HIV (PLHIV)

Retention on ART/MLC Thematic Area

Target Population: PLHIV

Zambézia - 17 districts: Alto Molocué, Gilé, Gurué, Ile, Inhassunge, Maganja da Costa, Milange, Mocuba, Mocubela, Molumbo, Lugela, Morrumbala, Pebane, Quelimane, Nicoadala, Namacurra and Mopeia

Gaza - 5 Districts: Xai-Xai, Chonguene, Guijá, Limpopo and Chokwé
